Don’t Waste Your Money Buying Expensive Letters or Posters! - Use Canva.com to print your letters and make mini-posters for your room! Canva offers free templates custom for teachers and includes content areas such as social and emotional learning.
We just love a good school-wide theme to build and create around. Try to incorporate elements of your classroom or school-wide theme into your next project!
Measure twice cut once! - There’s nothing worse than wasting expensive bulletin board paper or fabric!
Pre-tape and space all of your letters using painter’s tape to ensure even spacing prior to taking out your stapler.
Visit Pinterest or any other teacher resource website for some beautiful new inspirations and creative concepts.
Create large bulletin board letters by using PowerPoint by enlarging bold fonts and turning them horizontal. Print, laminate, and cut each letter individually.
When creating large pieces of authentic art on your bulletin board, use push pins to hold pieces in place before using your stapler. Believe it or not glue guns on a low setting can be extremely useful when layering pieces of paper on a bulletin board!
Check out your local DOLLAR $TORE for some unique and affordable materials. Large rectangular plastic tablecloths make durable and fade-resistant backdrops. Make sure you look through their craft section for some inspiration. When buying in bulk, don’t forget to take advantage of their online sales.
Sometimes layering your exterior borders can give your board a unique look! Use multiple layers of border overlapping each to give your bulletin board some depth! Use different patterns and colors to give it an extra pop. Remember it’s ok to overlap the perimeter of your board.
Think outside of the box - transform an old trophy case or hang tack strips to build your bulletin boards anywhere! Don’t be scared to go outside your traditional rectangular space and make it abstract!
Using lightweight cardboard and or paper, you may create 3-D dimensional objects and staple the items to your bulletin board to give it a WOW factor!
Have fun and switch up your fonts! Try not to exceed more than two different fonts on a single board! DO NOT forget to place those letters on an angle for some extra visual enhancement!
